1920s Antoinette Down the Aisle Dress | Antique 20s Robe De Style Ivory White Silk Bridal Gown with Original Panniers & Wax Flowers | Small

Walk down the aisle Marie Antoinette style in this rare 1920's Robe De Style Dress! Opulance and decadence are shared aspects of the Roccoco era and the roaring 20's so the marraige of these periods in this museum worthy piece is only natural! Made of silk charmeuse in ivory, it shines like a pearl and drapes like a dream. The silhouette is everything you'd expect of this iconic style with the underlying panniers still doing their duty and fine smocking sitting low on the waist creating the fullness needed in the skirt to accomodate the hoops. The bodice is sleek and detailed with strips of fabric running like a necklace and attaching to the center of the smocking then hanging down the frront of the skirt with wax flowers adding adornment. The long sleeves taper to a point over the hand and ruching at the elbows eases movement and adds elegant detail. The hem of the skirt is scalloped and sits longer on the back as a smart alternative to a train. Fastens with snaps on the side. Panniers are labeled "Warren's Featherbone" and they are worn with the legs slipped through a strap opening. This dress is in great vintage condition, a little faint foxing but no holes nor odors to note.
