1950s Draped In Drama "Lilli Ann" Coat | Vintage 50s Black Wool Mohair Trapunto Quilted Princess Overcoat with Convertible Collar | Small

When winter's chill hits you can set a blaze by bringing all the drama in this absolutely iconic 1950s "Lilli Ann" princess coat! The soft wool and mohair blend in black has the slightest silver sheen from the medium length mohair nap and is cut in the epitome of the New Look silhouette. As usual with "Lilli Ann", the seamwork makes an hourglass waist to die for and the full skirt needs no crinoline but the addition of one would send this over the top. The shawl collar is an astounding piece of work both visually and structurally. Featuring trapunto quilting, it can be worn fully laid flat over the shoulders, rolled high over the neck showing off an opulent rhinestone button, or popped up creating seductive vampiric drama. Trapunto accenting is also used on the skirt, starting narrow at the waist and gradually going wide at the hem. Hand pockets are hidden in the skirt seams and waist ties further nip in. Lilli Ann was famous for their princess coats, and this is hands-down the very top princess coat around! We're honored to finally have one for sale <3 Fully lined in rayon satin. This coat is in great vintage condition, with no holes, stains, odors to note.
