1950s Regimental Reginald Mess Dress Uniform | Vintage 50s Black + Red Wool Silk Ceremonial Jacket Vest & Trousers Suit Set | Size 38 Medium

You'll be dressed to a T and true to regimen with this 1957 dated ceremonial uniform! This British issues ensemble makes a bold statement with it's contrast colours of black and fire red. Mainly wool but with accents of silk the contrast continues. The jacket is a cropped style with no closures though faux button holes of silk cord in fuchsia give a clean look. It has a shawl lapel of moire silk and white piping trims the cuffs and shoulder epaulets which are adorned with a trio of bullion embroidered medallions. It is fully lined with combed cotton with inner quilting for structure and a secret pocket is found within. The lack of closures on the jacket allows the waistcoat to shine with it's four gleaming silver button and white piping to match the coat. It is lined and backed with rayon and can be adjusted with a buckled cinch. The trousers have a wide waistband rising higher on the back with two peaks and double pleated front looks swell amongst the wide red side stripes. Side seam pockets keep the stripes straight and outer suspender buttons match the button fly. Buckling cummerbund of silk faille with wide pleats top it all off. This suit is in great vintage condition, the jacket back of neck has wear but no other holes, odors, nor stains to note.
