1930s Grand Gamine Gown | Vintage 30s Pink Moiré Rayon Taffeta Evening Dress w/Velvet Lacing Puff Sleeves & Scallop Standing Collar | Medium

Feeling girlish? Make it grand with this 1930s gown! Made of elegant moiré rayon taffeta with a wood grain pattern in orchid pink, the details on this piece make it no wonder that it comes with a patent number dating to 1938 - we were even able to dig up the original patent drawing! Smocking is used extensively, it creates the ruffles along the neckline, puffs of the shoulder and down the sleeve, and above the waist creating a blousey bust. The waistline is lightly arced and cinches with ties on each side and faux corset lacing of plum velvet accents the front hips where the fit is slim before flaring to a full hem. Self fabric loop buttons fasten at the low back and at the nape leaving a keyhole opening along the back and the collar is adaptable with a standing option to really show off the scalloped edge or laid flat for a more demure look. This dress is in great vintage condition, with no other holes, stains, or odors to note.
