1940s Adoring Audience "Adrian" Gown | Vintage 40s Black Rayon Evening Dress by Hollywood Designer with Beaded Fringe & Hip Pleats | Medium

Get the A-list treatment when you meet an adoring audience wearing this gown by illustrious Hollywood designer "Adrian"! Worn by the likes of Joan Crawford and Norma Shearer, an "Adrian" is the ultimate golden era piece and this 1940s example is full of star appeal. Made of black rayon crepe in a statuesque cut that beautifully accentuates the feminine form. It has a scooped square neckline and crossing pleats over the bust which is otherwise completely covered in looped beaded fringe and this is also covers the back yoke and cap sleeves. The shoulders are padded and a killer wiggle is achieved with the crossing pleat accent over the hips which transition to layered pleat gathers. Metal "Talon" zipper fastens up the back. This dress in is great vintage condition, with no holes, stains, or odors to note.
