1940s Trailblazer "Turk" Western Set | Vintage Early 40s Two Tone Brown & Taupe Wool Westernwear Cowgirl Blouse Side Zip Pants Suit | Large

Follow in the footsteps of trailblazers of many trails in this early 1940s western set! A label reknown to the western fan through and through, this Nathan Turk ensemble looks great on a country stage, dusty road, rodeo stand, and everywhere in between. Made of wool twill and emphasizing two tone contrast in shades of desert taupe and saddle brown, perfect for rambling on the range. The blouse fastens with ochre buttons up the front and up the wide cuffs and contrast piping highlights the button line, cuffs, collar, and curved smile chest pockets with arrow reinforcement embroidery. The peaked yoke has tone on tone piping and padded shoulders and shapely waist darts keep a feminine look. The trousers feature dropped peaked tunnel belt loops, welted curve smile pockets, decorative top stitching, and a brass "Talon" zipper with ochre button on the side. Turk preceded Nudie as the preeminent westernwear tailor of Southern California. This early set features buttons instead of snaps (snaps were introduced to western wear in 1945), smile pockets on both the blouse AND trousers (a Turk specialty), and both pieces sport a very early Turk label with his first address before expanding next door and before adding the "sitting tailor" logo. This set is in great vintage condition, a few little fabric nicks on the pants but no other holes, stains, or odors to note. Pants have been pinned on model to show fit.
