1800s Mournful Maiden Ensemble | Antique Vintage Victorian Black Silk and Lace Skirt Capelet Belt & Two Blouse 5 Piece Variety Set | Large

Wander the catacombs of (after)life in this ensemble of Victorian pieces! The all black theme gives mourning fashion but don't let your joy stop you! With two blouses, skirt, capelet, and ribbon belt there's beautiful variety of elements from each piece. One blouse is best for study but displays pintucks, openwork, inset lace, and white lace trim on silk. The modeled blouse is very wearable and is made of silk completely covered with pintuck stripes and cord covered decorative buttons are flanked by cord looped over openwork stripes, a detail also used on the turtleneck collar. It fastens up the back with placket covered buttons and the three quarter length sleeves have wide cuffs. The capelet is a gorgeous damask with swirling florals and the yoke is trimmed with lace and jet beads and silk bows. It fastens with hooks and eyes and is fully lined with combed cotton. Lastly is a stunning skirt, yards and yards of netted lace with large scale polkadots is laid over a taffeta lining and Petersham ribbon makes three tiers near the hem. The waist fastens with hooks and eyes and an extra wide ribbon makes a belt with big bow. This set is in overall great vintage condition, all four modeled pieces are very wearable, the capelet has slight shattering in the main bow (closes with hook/eye, so the main bow isn't stressed). As stated the second/bonus blouse is best for study due to shattering. No other flaws of note.
