1940s Tropical Trip Suit | Vintage 1940s Oatmeal Beige Linen Belted Back Peak Lapel Jacket Blazer & Trousers w/Shell Buttons | Size 42 Large

You'll look swell even if it's sweltering out in this “Featherwate” linen 1940’s suit! Both pieces are a breezy linen in oatmeal beige. The double breasted jacket features wide peak lapels, 2x4 button stance with mother of pearl buttons, three patch pockets with the hip pockets having decorative box pleats, one inner pocket, and fully pleated and belted back with a single vent. The trousers are flat front with welted pockets and cuffed hems and a partially lined. There is a hook and eye closure on the waistband as well as a metal “Talon” zipper fly. From the high-end “Kuppenheimer” label. Very hard to make out, but we can see the faint remains of a 1939-49 Union Label dating this suit to the 1940s (we assume early 1940s, given that the belted-back style went out of fashion during wartime). This suit is in great vintage condition, there is a blue mark inside the jacket on the lining that does not show on the outside, the lining has some splits and there are a few well done period mends but no holes, stains, odors to note.
