1940s Mardi Gras Mabel Dress | Vintage 40s Purple Rayon Crepe Half Peplum Frock with Harlequin Gelatin Sequins and Matching Belt | Medium

This 1940's cocktail dress is a screen siren dream! Amethyst purple rayon crepe combined with a harlequin pattern of green and purple gelatin sequins on the bodice make this a great Mardi Gras piece! The high neckline buttons at the nape creating a keyhole, the shoulders are padded, the wrists are lightly ruched, and the half peplum is lightly gathered. Metal “Talon V for Victory” zipper on the side dates this dress to World War II. Comes with matching belt. This dress is in great vintage condition, there is the faintest amount of fade on the sleeves and a barely perceptible water mark on the back. No other holes, stains, odors to note.
